Sleeping Warrior & Ugali Hills Hike

Here goes the sleeping warrior, it was given the name because it kinda looks like a person lying with their head facing up. The depression been the neck. In most cases, guys are not allowed to get to the upper part which is the head for safety purposes. The Sleeping Warrior and Ugali Hills peaks are in a ridge along the Great Rift Valley

(I love long sleeve tops because they protect me from getting pricked and some of the plants have  a burning sensation)

The hike starts off by going around the Lake Elementaita with takes about 2-3 hours. Then you proceed with Sleeping Warrior and if you have some energy left you to proceed with the Ugali hill which is a steep climb. The hike takes about 6-7 hours depending on your speed. If you have a speed like mine it may take longer 😊😊also factoring the getting lost in the bushes.

I am not a very fast hiker and in most cases in my group, I am the last to arrive, but I find joy in knowing that finished the hike. And I think maintaining the pace is the key to enjoying the hike. Been too fast at the beginning results to tiring up so fast in the middle of the hike.
To sum it up, this has been one of the most spectacular wild places that I have been too. I enjoy all the hikes that I have been to, one, because I have an awesome hiking crew, I get to challenge myself, sweat a whole lot and make new friends.

What to expect: Beautiful Scenery, landscapes, adventure, and wildlife.
What you need to know:

  • You will have lots of fun😜
  • The terrain is flat and hilly with bushes on the way.
  • Height: 2300 meters above sea level.
  • Difficulty level: Moderately tough

What you need:

  • Good hiking shoes that have a grip
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Lots of water/ fluids
  • Snacks
  • Camera
  • Some Music- It has a way of making you forget how tired you are.
Planning on visiting Kenya, this is a place to go to!

Thanks for reading!
With lots of love
